Atlantic hurricane season runs officially June 1 through November 30, overlapping with the otherwise-recommended fall shoulder season. It's worth factoring in as a genuine trade-off — quieter and cheaper, but with some storm risk, particularly September through November.

Winters here are mild, making St. Augustine a viable destination well outside the traditional peak season, unlike more remote seasonal coastal towns further north.
