Sedona's lodging spans destination red-rock resorts to standard budget motels, spread across a few genuinely distinct areas — Uptown, West Sedona, Boynton Canyon, and the separate community of Village of Oak Creek. We checked eight properties below — one well-known resort turned out to have closed and reopened under an entirely different name, exactly the kind of stale listing worth catching.

Enchantment Resort

A destination luxury resort deep in Boynton Canyon with a Forbes Four-Star rating, home to sister property Mii Amo, a Forbes Five-Star destination spa.

L'Auberge de Sedona

A creekside luxury resort a short walk from Uptown Sedona, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, with accommodations spanning cottages, cliffside rooms, and a multi-bedroom creekhouse.

Amara Resort and Spa

A boutique red-rock resort at the foot of Uptown Sedona, recently through a multimillion-dollar renovation. Worth noting: this is a distinct property from the separate Hilton Vacation Club timeshare Los Abrigados Resort & Spa — the two are sometimes confused.

El Portal Sedona Hotel

An Arts & Crafts-style adobe inn near Tlaquepaque, holding a MICHELIN Key distinction for the second consecutive year, one of only eight Arizona properties with that recognition.

Sky Ranch Lodge

A family-owned property since 1982, perched 500 feet above town on Airport Mesa with panoramic red-rock views and several acres of botanical gardens.

Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock

Worth a location flag: this full-service Hilton property sits in the Village of Oak Creek, a separate community roughly 15-20 minutes' drive from Uptown Sedona — not in Sedona proper, despite the name.

Matterhorn Inn

A mid-range independent inn directly in Uptown Sedona, within walking distance of shops and trailheads.

White House Inn

A genuine budget option in West Sedona, an independently operated motel a few miles from Uptown along State Route 89A.

A Property We Excluded (Under Its Old Name)

Poco Diablo Resort closed in June 2025 for a full redevelopment and reopened in May 2026 under an entirely new name and concept, Outbound Sedona. Any source still referring to "Poco Diablo Resort" as a current, bookable property is outdated.

Practical Tips

• Enchantment Resort and El Portal are the two strongest picks for genuine red-rock immersion and recognized quality.

• Hilton Sedona Resort at Bell Rock is a solid option if you don't mind being outside Sedona proper in the Village of Oak Creek.

• Double-check any reference to "Poco Diablo Resort" — it now operates under a completely different name.
