Introduction

Brevard's lodging scene is small and heavy on independent properties rather than big hotel chains — a scattering of downtown inns, cabin compounds outside town, one chain hotel, and a scenic but seasonal option up on the Blue Ridge Parkway. Because several downtown Brevard properties have changed hands or closed in the past couple of years, we've noted current status explicitly rather than assuming a listing is still accurate.

Downtown and Walkable

Oak Street Inn is a newer boutique bed-and-breakfast opened by the former owners of the now-closed Red House Inn, with three guest suites and a cooked-to-order breakfast; it's within walking distance of Main Street, Brevard College, and the downtown farmers market. The Sunset Motel is a renovated, vintage motor-court-style motel near Brevard College — a budget-friendlier, retro alternative to the boutique inns. Note that the long-running Inn at Brevard (also known locally as the Colonial Inn) has been closed for renovation and is expected to reopen under a new name, The Sylvan Inn, in September 2026 — worth watching for later travel dates, but not bookable as of this writing.

Cabins and Nature Retreats

Deerwoode Reserve is a 175-acre private nature preserve a few minutes from downtown, with eleven cabins and lodges ranging from studios to units that sleep up to 18, plus on-site trails, ponds, and a spring-fed swimming hole. It suits groups, families, or anyone who wants forest quiet without giving up modern cabin amenities.

Reliable Chain Option

Holiday Inn Express & Suites Brevard – City Center, built in 2021, is the area's newest chain hotel — 86 rooms with standard continental breakfast. It's the safer bet for travelers who want predictable, bookable-in-advance lodging rather than a small independent inn with limited rooms.

A Seasonal Alternative on the Parkway

Pisgah Inn, at Milepost 408 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, sits at roughly 5,000 feet elevation with panoramic Pisgah National Forest views from its rooms. It's a 30-to-45-minute drive from downtown Brevard depending on route, open only April 1 through October 31, and books up well in advance for summer and fall weekends.

Practical Notes

Because several Brevard inns have changed ownership recently, confirm current operating status directly with the property before booking, particularly for smaller independent B&Bs. Rooms across all categories tend to sell out fastest around White Squirrel Weekend in May and peak leaf season in October.
